Conversations with Eli

(while I was putting on mascara)
Eli:  Mommy, you are doing a great job with yours eyes!
Me: Thank you Eli.  You are a funny.
Eli:  No, you are funny.  I'm a big boy.  And she's a baby girl. (pointing to sister)

(while running errands)
Me:  Are you ready to go home and eat lunch?
Eli:  No!!  I need to go to Target!

(while driving)
Eli:  It's Daddy's school!!  It's so beautiful!
Me:  It's so beautiful??
Eli:  Yes, it's so beautiful.
Me:  What else is beautiful?
Eli:  Um.....the trees are beautiful!
Me: Yes!  What else?
Eli:  Um..................
Me: Is baby sister beautiful?
Eli:  No.
Me:  Am I beautiful?
Eli:  No.  Eli's beautiful!

Conversations with Eli

Mommy:  You're a sweet boy!
Eli:  No, I'm a Eli Davis



(in the car)
Eli:  Baylor Bears Fight!
Mommy:  Yes, B-A-Y-L-O-R Baylor Bears Fight!
Eli:   E-L-I    E-L-I    Baylor Bears Fight!




(We have been telling Eli not to say no to Mommy and Daddy)
Mommy:  No Eli.  That's not for you.
Eli:  Don't say no to Eli.
*DOUBLE sigh*


(when having a tea party with Jillian's tea set)
Mommy:  Mmmmm....Eli this tea is so yummy!
Eli:  Yes, it's delicious!

Conversations with Eli

Mommy:  What is your name?
Eli:  Eli Davis
Mommy:  That's right!  How do you spell Eli?
Eli:  E-L-I
Mommy:  Very good!  You're right!  What is her name? (pointing to Jillian)
Eli:  Baby Sisters Davis


(in the parking lot at church)
Mommy:  Eli, you have to hold my hand.
Eli:  Have to hold Mommy's hand.  Lots of cars.  They will bite you.

Conversations with Eli

At first this happened without us prompting him for the answers.  Now he says this all the time. :)

Mommy: "Who's sweet boy are you?"
Eli:  "Mommy's sweet boy!!"  (followed by lots of laughter)
Daddy:  "Who's the man?"
Eli:  "Daddy's the man!!"


When we pass the cows on the way to the grocery store...
Mommy: "Eli, say hi to the cows."
Eli: "Hi cows!  It's good to see you!"
Mommy: "Are the cows eating?"
Eli: "Yes, eating ice cream!"

Conversations with Eli

We have a fairly chatty toddler at our house.  Sometimes he says funny things.  I'm going to try to post some  here so I can remember all our funny conversations and tell him one day.

So here it goes...

Mommy (yelling to Daddy in the other room): "Hey Babe?  Can you come here for a minute?"
Eli (also yelling): "Babe?  Babe?  Hey Babe?"
Mommy:  "Eli, who is Babe?"
Eli:  "Daddy."

Hmm...smart cookie! :)
