Bouncy Birthday

Last weekend Eli went to a friends birthday part at Pump It Up Jr. in Plano.  They had a big room full of several different inflatables for toddlers.  Eli just LOVED it!  After taking a minute to get used to all the chaos, he left me in the dust!  The slides were definitely his favorite part.  He went down head first most of the time.  He has no fear!

Up the stairs!

Down the slide

Look at that smile!

I took one video to show how funny it was to see him slide all over the place in his socks.  The kids are so little and the slides are so slick that they just fly down them.  Eli kept trying to stand up and jump off the end of the slide, but always slipped down to the next mat.

Nursery

Since we didn't know Jillian was going to be a girl it has taken a little while to get her nursery finished.  There are still a few little details to finish, but for the most part it is done!  Thanks to Daddy for painting the room and Aunt Liz for painting the stripe and polka dots and helping with the decor!

4 Months

We just love our little 4 month old!  She is doing so many fun things these days!  She started rolling over this month (stomach to back)...sadly I haven't gotten it on video yet.  She is a drool monster and constantly has her hands in her mouth...I'm hoping those teeth say away a bit longer.  She loves to grab her feet and put them in her mouth.  I seem to remember a little boy who did this also. :)  She is talking and giggling a lot and really loves to be the center of attention.  The girl craves eye contact!  That is all she needs to give you the biggest smile you ever saw!

Miss Jillian is starting to enjoy taking baths and she is tolerating her car seat better.  She really loves the activity bar on her car seat and she is getting good at grabbing the toys on it.  She also enjoys the exersaucer for about 10 minutes at a time.  Big brother helps entertain her by pushing the buttons to make music play and showing sister all the toys.

Her favorite thing is for us to talk to her.  She is so chatty!!  Many mornings she wakes up and spends 5-10 minutes talking to herself in her crib before she gets fussy and decides she wants to be picked up.

She is wearing 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers.  She eats 5-6 ounces every 3 hours (except at night.)  Our big girl is sleeping in her crib every night!  She has a rough night here and there but for the most part she sleeps from about 7:30 pm to 6:00 am (sometimes waking up once to eat.)  Jillian never seems to bother Eli in the middle of the night if she cries, which has been so wonderful since their rooms are right next to each other.

She is doing great at daycare and loves her teachers!  They say if she is fussy they put her in a bouncy seat across from a little boy who is about 4 weeks older than her.  She just smiles and talks to him...what a flirt!

Our baby had a few big milestones this month (rolling over, eating her hands and feet, intentionally grabbing at toys, etc.) so I feel like she is starting to grow up! *tear*  Lets hope this process slows down a bit.

4 Month Stats:
Height:  26 inches - 95%
Weight:  14 lbs. 5 oz. - 75%

A little comparison...Here is Eli at 4 months and Jillian at 4 months.  It is hard to tell in this picture, but Eli was actually much bigger at this age than Jillian is.  (Eli was 2 1/2 pounds heavier and almost 2 inches longer!)

BP

We had a great time Saturday night at the Brad Paisley concert!  It was very hot but we were in the shade most of the time so it wasn't too bad and our great seats made up for it.  We didn't really care about the openning acts (there were five!) but we got there in time to see the last two...Justin Moore (I had never even heard of him) and Darius Rucker.  Both were pretty good but when you're outside in hundred degree heat, everyone just wants to see the headliner.  Thanks to Aunt Liz for babysitting so Mommy and Daddy could have a night out!!

We're on our way!

Justin Moore

Hootie - He actually sang a couple of Hootie & the Blowfish songs and I think the crowd liked them better than his country stuff.

Waiting for Brad

Brad Paisley

P.S. What is it obout concerts that makes people lose their minds as soon as they walk out their front door?  While we waited for each act, we did a good bit of people watching and most of the people there had completely forgotten how to dress and act.  Does this make me sound old?  I mean, seriously people, just because your whole chest, stomach, and back are tattooed doesn't mean that the tatoo takes the place of a shirt!  And to all the 16-year-olds out there, you have to wear clothes no matter how hot it is...a tube top with a belt and cowboy boots don't count.

Rookie

With each new season comes a new sport in our house.  Last Fall was the first real sports season that Eli got into and he LOVED Football.  He was only 14 months but he could recognize when it was on tv and he got very excited.  He also loved to throw and catch his little football.

Then came basketball.  He had a new love.  He was even more obsessed with basketball than football.  During March Madness, Daddy got Eli his own basketball goal and he has spent hours shooting baskets (he is actually pretty good.)  He is always on the lookout for basketball goals in driveways when we drive around the neighborhood and he loved to watch it on tv too.  I was certain basketball was going to be his favorite sport.

Well, we are now in baseball season and not only does he whine for baseball if I try to change the channel when it is on, but he wants to play ALL THE TIME.  Sadly for him, we don't usually have time to spend hours pitching to him, but we play as much as possible.  It is the first thing he wants to play in the morning and he often tries to take his bat in the car.  He usually wants to bat so he brings you the baseball to throw to him, but he also likes to pitch.  We haven't tried to teach him anything, but he has picked up lots of details from watching it on tv.  He has a routine for when he gets ready to bat, and he usually goes into a full wind up when pitching.  He needs some work on accuracy when pitching but he has gotten really good at hitting.

Take a look at our little rookie!

America's Game

Last weekend we took the kids to their first baseball game!  We went out to Frisco for the RoughRiders game and had so much fun!  I was a little worried it was going to be too hot but we had seats in the shade and it wasn't bad at all!  I was so sure we were going to have to leave early since the game didn't even start until 7pm, but both kids did great and we didn't leave until the 8th inning!  The games in Frisco are so much more intimate than Rangers games and a lot closer to home so I highly recommend it!
On the way to the game!  Eli loves his sunglasses!

Eli and Uncle Marty, who was in town for the weekend.

The view from our seats behind home plate!

Eli giving Daddy back the bite of pretzel.  I think it was too chewy for him.

Eli was very attentive during the game!  He didn't want to miss anything.

Eli and Daddy cheering.  Eli would cheer everytime someone hit the ball.  It didn't matter if it was the other team, he knew someone on the feel deserved a cheer.  haha

Father and son watching the game

Jillian got a little nap in before we left.
