Friday Fun Day!

We had so much fun playing and eating our picnic lunch at Celebration Park on Friday! (thanks for organizing A)  Eli ran all over the place and couldn't decide what to do first.  It was a little hard to keep up with him while having Jillian in the stroller.  This is more of a two parent park.  lol
Eli is a sliding fool!

Climbing was the game of the day.  It always makes us nervous to let him climb things on his own, but he was a champ on Friday.

Climbing again

More climbing!  This one made Mommy VERY nervous, so I helped him up the rest of the way.

Didn't I tell you this was the theme?

My child with no fear was brave enough to go on this slide.  I was happy it was enclosed. :)  He usually goes down slides head first (what a rebel!)  This is what he looked like when he came out.  I heard his little shoes flopping around all the way down.

This was his face when he came out.  I guess he got thrown around a bit.  Notice the static hair.  lol

The boys decided they couldn't leave without playing in the water.

When it came down to it, Eli didn't really want to get in the water.  He just wanted to run around the outside of it.  What a silly boy!

*Sorry we didn't get any pics with the Johnson or Copeland kids!  Next time!

6 Months!

It is so hard to believe that our baby girl is 6 months old already!  She is doing so many fun things and we are seeing so much of her little personality these days.

Jillian loves to play in her exersaucer and jumperoo.  She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth.  We put her on the floor to play with her toys and she ends up across the room!  She rolls and scoots all over the place.  Sometimes she gets a little frustrated if she is on her stomach too long, and even though she knows how to roll onto her back she often cries until we give her a little help.  She still loves to be held and rocked.

J loves to be tickled and will often give you a big belly laugh!  She giggles at mommy and daddy all the time but big brother is the funniest of all!  All he has to do is run over to her and she squeals!  She still loves to be talked and sung to, and is becoming quite the talker herself!

She has started rice cereal and loves it!  We only do one feeding a day but will start two soon.  We have tried green beans and squash but she isn't thrilled about either.  Still no teeth yet but I'm not complaining! :)  They will come soon enough!

Baby girl usually sleeps well and only wakes up if she needs her pacifier.  Since I've been staying home we have been trying to get on a better nap schedule but she isn't much of a napper.  She takes 3-4 short naps a day (usually 20 minutes - 1 hour.)  That makes it hard to get anything done but she is always happy after a nap, even a short one, so I figure she is getting the sleep she needs.

Happy Halfy Birthday baby girl!  We love you!

6 Month Stats:

Pum-a-kins

Eli was very excited to go see the "pum-a-kins" today.  He is usually very good at pronouncing hard words, but this one was so cute I didn't want to correct him.  :)  We wanted to go to a little church that has had pumkins for sale in the past.  We like that it is never crowded and close by, but we realized upon arrival that they aren't selling pumpkins this year.

So on to Plan B.  We went back to Owens in Richardson.  Last year was our first time there and I think we went in the afternoon so it was very crowded and none of the goats wanted the feed that came with the $7 admission.  This year, we got there right as they opened and the goats were starving!  Eli LOVED feeding them.

Crawling through all the pumpkins.

Took LOTS of pictures...finally got some smiles!

Eli didn't really want to take a "pum-a-kin" home...just wanted to throw them.

He went through this little maze a couple of times, but I think you end up at the right place no matter which path you take.  He thought it was very elementary. :)

"Baby Sisters" as Eli calls her.

Daddy and Eli walking back to the car.  The admission also included a hay ride (which we opted out of) and a hot dog.  Since Eli was two already, we had to pay for him too.  I wasn't really excited about a hot dog at 10am and Eli doesn't like them, so Stephen ate his and took the other two home.  Eli decided he needed pretzels though.

Just for a little comparison...here is Eli in October 2008 (3 months) and October 2009 (15 months)

Gym Rat

Daddy had a meeting at school Tuesday night so we went to see him after school to keep him company.  Want to know the best thing about having a dad as an assistant principal?

You get the gym all to yourself!

(sorry some of the pictures are so dark...the lights were off so we were only using sunlight)

Galleria Lunch

Earlier this week we went out to the Galleria to meet Uncle Scott and Grandpa for lunch!  Eli and Jillian had a great time.  Grandpa got there early and found a play area so Eli was able to get some energy out after lunch.

Jillian is grabbing at everything these days.  She found Uncle Scott very interesting. :)

Thanks for a great lunch and play time!
