Tech Savy

Somehow, Eli has gotten really good at "playing" with our phones.  He does puzzles, reads books, and plays games.  He has quickly learned how to start whatever app he wants to play with.  Unfortunately, he also downloads applications when his fingers get carried away.  I can't believe he understands our phones this well.  Are all kids this tech savy at this age?  Is it a boy thing?  Is it a generation thing?

He loves this basketball game.

Pushy Pushy

Eli used to love his push toy.  He had one that we borrowed from a friend and had to give back.  I thought Jillian might like one but didn't want to pay big bucks for it since she will probably only use it for a few months, so we found a cheap one at the used kids clothing store.  She hasn't really started cruising yet so I wasn't sure she would know what to do but she took off!!  She just loves it and is SO proud of herself.  It probably doesn't hurt that we clap and cheer for her when she crosses the room.

What a boy!

Yesterday afternoon I went outside to look at the dark sky.  It had already rained once and it looked like we were going to get more.

Someone escaped with no shoes on.  He decided it would be a good idea to shoot the basketball into the play area.
When he went in to get the ball, he found something else fun.

MUD!!!!

I don't know how boys instincitvely know what to do with mud, but he jumped all around getting as dirty as possible.  I gave up trying to keep him clean or get him inside and just took pictures.

He thought he should slap the mud with his hands too.

So proud of himself and having a blast!!

Muddy feet!

He actually let me take a picture of him.  I think his fake smile is getting better.

I love this picture.  Chubby little dirty hands.  Someday soon they won't be so chubby or little anymore.  *Sigh*  We went straight to the bath tub.  Sister was very disappointed she couldn't get in with him but the water was gross.  She got banana ALL over herself at dinner though so she got her way eventually.

Fun with Photos

The weather was so great yesterday we just had to get outside.  While Eli was sleeping, Jillian practiced her modeling while I practiced my photography.  There are some shadows on her face in some pictures due to the position of the sun, and the dead grass doesn't make for the best background but sadly, I thought it was better than inside.  She just LOVED being outside and it was hard to keep her still.  I should have thought about this earlier in the day so she wouldn't be so squinty-eyed, but I think she is pretty cute regardless.  Get ready for picture overload!

Memory

Daddy got Eli a new memory game.  We have been teaching him how to play and he caught on pretty quickly.  He always wants to find the match of the first card he turns over so he holds it in his hand until he finds it.  If he turns over other cards along the way that match, he will go back for them.  He is very good at remembering what each card is.
Here he is at the start of the game.

Turning over cards.

He found a match!

We tried a game with more cards.

Not a great idea.  He ended up sitting in the middle of it trying to find the other snake card.  He loves this game!
