Pumpkins!

The weather cleared up last weekend so we took Eli to a nearby pumpkin patch. He loved getting to run around and see the sights!
Eli and Daddy...ready for an adventure!

Trying to pick up the biggest pumpkin he could find.

This one was more his size...but he wasn't as interested in this one.

Examining the little pumpkin.

"Dad, what am I supposed to do with this thing?"

"Wow! There's a whole field of little pumpkins!"

"Is it ok to pick this up on my own?"

"Ball!!!!" He kept throwing them down and saying ball. :)

"I'm gonna get to the top of this hay stack...

if it's the last thing I do!"

"I did it!"

"What is this thing?"

"Am I supposed to smile?"

"This is a funny looking dog!"

"They like me!!"

"Whoa, those are really big dogs!" (they were longhorns!)

"Mommy, when is Daddy coming back with my hot dog?"

"Where is the horse? He isn't in his stall!"

"Why does Mommy like to take so many pictures with me?"

"Is it time to go yet?"

"I'm all tuckered out! What a fun place!"

15 Months!

Our baby boy is getting to be such a big boy! He is walking and talking all over the place! I feel like he does something new everyday. He loves for us to sing him songs that he can do motions to (Wheels on the Bus, 5 Little Monkeys, Twinkle Twinkle.) He has nine teeth...four upper and five lower. Eli is OBSESSED with books. He would rather read books than play with his other toys. If I ask him to find something or go get it (a ball, a book, Pita, a block, Daddy) he can. He still loves Pita and gets very excited around her so we are trying to teach him to be gentle (we aren't getting through to him quite yet though.) He is very head strong and will definitely let us know if he is unhappy about not getting his way. :)

15 Month Stats:

Eli has something to say...

I'm going to be a BIG BROTHER!! That's right...Baby Davis #2 will be here in April and we are so excited...especially Eli.
Well, he may not understand about baby brother or sister yet, but when he figures it out he will be excited. :) I'm just shy of 12 weeks and feeling pretty good...just really tired. I just had my second doctor appt today and everything is looking great!

For those of you who have been asking...no, we are not going to find out if Eli will have a brother or sister. We will all find out together in April!! (Plus, it is fun to frustrate all of you who just HAVE to know.) lol

We are very excited to see what this new baby will bring to our little family! I'm thinking we are going to be very busy considering Eli and Baby Davis #2 will only be 20 months apart....perfect spacing don't you think??

B-A-Y-L-O-R Baylor Bears Fight!

Last Saturday we drove down to Waco to support our Bears at the home opener. Sadly, they lost, but we had a great time cheering them on! Of course, this was not Eli's first appearance at a Baylor game and will definitely not be his last.

Eli & Mommy at the first game this year. What a difference a year makes!! It was pretty hot...see Eli's rosy cheeks?

Boating

Yesterday we went out on the lake with Stephen's brother, sister-in-law, and nieces. We had a great time and Eli was good for his first lake experience! Eli and Daddy on the boat! I promise, he is happier than he looks. :)

Cooling off in the water! The life jacket was a bit big but daddy was holding on really tight. It's hard to tell but Eli is actually laughing in this picture.

Milestones...

Seems like our sweet boy keeps getting bigger and bigger every day! He had his one year appointment a couple of weeks ago but I forgot to post about it. He got two shots...not very fun for him or Mommy...but he did great the rest of the time. He is walking all over the place, just went up to size 5 diapers, and only seems to want to get into things he is supposed to stay away from.

He loves to dance to music and terrorize play with Pita. He chases her around the house and laughs so hard as she runs away from him. But when Eli is calm, Pita will come over and lick his face! Eli can say "DaDa,"MaMa," and we are working on "Uh-Oh" (it comes out more like "Uh-Uh" right now, but he has said it when he drops things so he has the right idea!) If we ask him where is puppy Pita is or where his ball is he can find them. He still loves to be outside and we are hoping for some cooler weather so we can get him outside more often.

Eli has seven teeth now and is eating a lot of "big people" food, but he can't really decide what he likes and what he doesn't. He will love something one day and hate it the next. He has refused both spaghetti and hot dogs (I thought all kids loved those), but loves macaroni & cheese, grapes, blueberries, waffles, yogurt, peas, carrots, raisins, green beans, corn, cheese, turkey (sometimes), and any bread or cracker. Right after his birthday we switched him from formula to milk and he loves it! He also loves water and is doing great drinking out of his sippy cup (with the exception of a few dribbles.)

He is growing up so fast and I know the next year is going to fly by just like the first one did!

1 Year Stats:

He's plotting his next move :)

Eli has figured out that there is just enough space behind the couch for him to crawl behind it.

He's On The Move!!

Actually, he has been walking for a while. I just haven't been able to get it on video until now. Eli pushed one of our bar stools over (scary!) a couple of weeks ago and we found out he loves to climb in and out of it. So, now I sometimes put it in the middle of the living room for him to play with. Here are the videos!
